American automaker, Chrysler, is a company with a long, rich history. And, though the present-day new Chrysler lineup is modern and innovative; it is also based in that iconic legacy. What's more, the engineering history of the Chrysler brand is wrought with a myriad of important "firsts" for the industry. Today, that is what we at Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Missoula would like to share with you.

Our tour back in time begins in 1934. This is the year that the first vehicle was created with automatic overdrive, by none other than, Chrysler. The addition of overdrive meant quieter more efficient rides.

Next came 1950-51, and the invention of technology we'd be lost without, today: power windows and power steering. Seven short years later, Chrysler introduced its first model with cruise control. Then not too long afterwards, the successful union of four-wheel drive and auto transmissions was melded. Power and control over autos by drivers was like it had never been.

Then of course there is safety and specifically, the addition of airbags as a standard feature in all Chrysler autos in 1988. The brand also added in an integrated child seat in 1992.

If you're looking for all of the available innovation, comfort, convenience and more, available from Chrysler, we recommend checking out a model like the Chrysler 300 available here at Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Missoula.
